Clay’s provide over 1500 meals (and counting) to Whitley – Thank you.

Whitley CDA have been providing food parcels and meals to people in Whitley since lockdown started. We did our best to ensure that no one who was vulnerable, elderly, in isolation or challenged would go without.

We would not have been able to do this without the support and help of all our partners and volunteers.

A partner we have to thank unreservedly is Clay’s Hyderabadi Kitchen. They contacted us very near the start of the pandemic and offered to provide hot meals. This includes meals they provided for our holiday hunger programme. Since then they have given us over 1500 meals – an amazing act of generosity.

We are so grateful and on behalf of Whitley we thank you.

We asked Clay’s about this and here is what they told us:

Clay’s has been really happy to collaborate with Whitley CDA over the
past four months. Events like this pandemic show us how vulnerable
many people and households are – we know that as much as anybody, and
we really wanted to help out and give something back.

We are proud to have done our bit helping Whitley CDA to support
families and children in need in the area. They do fantastic work,
needed now more than ever, and are hugely deserving of support. By our
reckoning we have cooked over 1500 meals in aid of Whitley CDA – we
really hope our curries have added a tiny bit of joy in these tough
times.

Clay’s is a small local restaurant that has just started a national delivery service – we cannot recommend their food enough. If you would like to support a local business that supported us click here to make an order.
